Welcome to Whilton Parish Council

The Whilton Parish Council covers both Whilton village and Whilton Locks within the Parish, all operating under the unitary authority of West Northamptonshire

What is the Parish Council? Whilton Parish Council is a local authority that makes decisions on behalf of the people in Whilton parish and has an overall responsibility for the well-being of our local community. It is the level government closest to our community, with West Northants Council above it in the hierarchy. As it is the authority closest to the people, our parish councils are invariably the first place people should go with concerns or ideas. For this reason they are a vital part of our community. The work of the Parish Council falls into three main categories: 1. Representing the local community. 2. Delivering services to meet local needs. 3. Striving to improve quality of life in the Parish.
